Father Paul Reich, S.M. the Associate Pastor, assists the Pastor in promoting and administering the sacramental life of the parish. Celebrating Sunday liturgies would be the most evident example of this task, along with hearing confessions, baptizing infants, and witnessing marriages. At all of these, preaching the Word is included. Other tasks of the Associate Pastor are performed according to need, e.g. visiting the sick. Father Paul has been involved with the RCIA -convert class for adults over the last 12 years. As a member of the parish staff, his input is expected regarding the administration of the parish on all levels. Regular conferences with the Pastor, meetings with the other clergy and liturgy director, and attending gatherings of the priests of local parishes in south central Maryland occupy his time to a fair extent. He lives with the Marianist Community in Sykesville. |
